Have you ever been asked to make Jewelry for a pet?

My mom called me the other day from work and said she had an unusual request.  A man that she works with broached the subject of whether we have ever thought about making jewelry for pets.  He felt that is was an untapped market and that alot of pet owners would be interested in buying adornments for their furry family members.  Being that I am the only one in the family with a four legged friend my mom asked if I would set about designing something and using our beautiful girl as my model.  I couldn't resist.  It has been fun playing around and designing something.  I have made her three different necklaces that she can wear on any given day!  I hope you like what you see!

In the Post!

I had been swooning over a lovely bracelet that Rebecca of Songbeads had made and had it in my shopping cart for awhile hoping that no one would purchase it before I had the chance.  I was the lucky recipient and I have to tell you this bracelet is more beautiful in person than on picture.  Rebecca has been making this style of bracelet for awhile and I just love it, part playful, part romantic and elegant.

Rebecca also sent me a little helping of soup, the little birds are so adorable I think I am going to have to keep them for myself.

Happy Friday!

Take care,

Bead Soup Arrived!

My package arrived today from the wonderful Marta Kaczerowska, I have a lovely mix of royal blue and yellow.  Marta also sent me a beautiful sterling silver pendant and clasp.  Yellow is my favorite color, I don't work with it much but I makes me feel so good.  I had a little helper tonight while opening my packages, as you will see we have some cute painted little toes in the picture.

Marta and I will be revealing our soup on August 25th but there will be two more hops see dates below.

Happy Hump Day!

Take care,
Penny

June Allegory Design Team

I am a few days late but hopefully better late than never!  I seen this adorable bracelet pattern done by Erin Seigl and I knew I had to try it so I decided to give my hand at it and thought it would be great to feature the Allegory beads, I have vintage lucite rounds in a iced tea color and then some creamy pearl colored seed beads.  I was making this bracelet on my back deck enjoying the beautiful sunshine.  My oldest daughter liked it so much she asked if I could make one for her, it is absolutely adorable in a little person version.

I am part of a really exiting team of designers - the Allegory Gallery Design Team. Every month from February 2012 - January 2013, we all blog about pieces of jewellery we have designed using materials from Allegory Gallery. We are able to combine these materials with those from our own stashes, to create new designs every month. Andrew Thornton sent each member of the team an exciting package of goodies, from his new Gallery and Boutique in Legonier, Pennsylvania.  You can check them out on facebook too.

Please check out the other members of the Allegory Gallery Design Team's blogs and show them some love!
